Solana ID by DSID 𑁍 ($SOLID application for LFG)

I read in the jupsearch description, that the DSID will be in Solana using the ID? previously DSID was on Concordium with a wallet using Identy, DSID is developing very quickly from before they have successfully run the Concordium project, now we see them, DSID will soon be on Solana, this is a good thing for the future of DSID, will $DSID be in the future? using Identy with Phantom/soflare wallet? Before you delve deeper into DSID, try diving into the project at CCD, they are very successful at CCD with wallets that must have an identity so what is there to doubt? We will wait for DSID at Solana

Hey Pascal, thanks for the very good questions.
1- we do believe that trustless systems need more trust but we don’t believe permissionless systems must have more permissions; what that means is that a user CAN opt-in to provide passport-related data points in a system that respects self-sovereign-identity standards meaning the user OWNS and CONTROLS this data eventually. BUT the user can also opt-out of integrating this data if he/she is aware of the consequences (which can be an impact on the reputation score + less benefits from data-2-earn + less airdrops etc. from partners who look for specific data points. Hope that answers your question to some degree.

2- yes, let’s see where market demand from verifiers will go but for now under collateralized or even collateral free loans purely based on prediction scores is not feasible (at least that’s what we learned so far). If they insist on having more securities, our reputation staking model could provide a solution. Users who stake their tokens, increase their scores into a “benefit-zone” that allows for advanced terms and offers like potentially undercollaterlized lending throughout multiple protocols (cause technically there is collateral locked at their Solana ID reputation account).

I could elaborate but will leave this for a twitter space or so.

Yes, Concordium is a great web3 identity provider for us and we see a big fit for Solana ID! Users who create a concordium identity wallet have their passport credentials in that wallet. They link that wallet to their Solana ID account respectively their sol wallets and we can now share those credentials in solana world while never giving up final ownership.

Good if DSID joins the solana ecosystem by building a native solution for identity management and verification! We all are suffering from scams and rugpulls and Solana ID sounds like it can help and increase overall security. Building credentials and reputation scores in various contexts and allowing users to attach them to their digital identity (i.e. wallet) is still desperately needed.

My questions: how do you make sure your system is secure as you might be handling private data? And how do you make DSID be accepted by users in the solana network? Do you figure they immediately accept Solana ID or how does your communication strategy with users look like?

The good thing about SSI (Self sovereign identity) is that you keep private data in containers on your own devices - if setup properly, this ensures that data is accessible only by entities you choose to share it with and you can change these settings in Solana ID Hub, our web app. Pretty secure.

And the last bit of your question is related to a go to market strategy for Solana - we are trying to be very active! We are building Solana ID during Colosseum Hack right now with a clear goal of getting a good place. We are very active in multiple Superteams (Germany, India, Balkans, UAE, …) and have support from them. Lastly, the SOLID Points System will incentivize users to sign up to sol id and create their identity scores and credentials with us.

The introduction effectively identifies a gap in the Solana ecosystem and positions DSID as a potential solution also highlighting a reputation system that improves all Solana dApps is a strong value proposition for developers and users alike.
Your vision of a universal reputation system for Solana dApps is exciting. Let’s delve deeper into specific functionalities. Can you explain how DSID’s reputation data (e.g., user behavior, community ratings) will be structured and integrated with dApps? Can you provide concrete examples of how different types of dApps (DeFi, NFT marketplaces, etc.) could leverage DSID to enhance user experience and security?

Sure! Thanks for your thoughts and questions.

We are curating a SOLID Score - it is being calculated by checking on-chain behaviour of all connected wallets + your off-chain data integrations such as X or other apps.
dApps can query the SOLID Score as a single-snap-shot metric to make better decisions on tailoring their offering or displaying customized offers.
We understand that some apps might want to see certain data points instead of an overall score - this is where the Admin Dashboard comes in, where projects can build their own scores based on the credentials they’d like to query. We spit out an API immediately and the project may integrate this into their app.

The approach of revolutionizing identity and reputation on Solana looks very promising. I am particularly interested in how DSID plans to address the privacy challenge of sharing off-chain credentials. Are there specific mechanisms or technologies that will be used to ensure the security of this sensitive data? How will the balance be maintained between user control and the need for verifiers to be able to access trusted data?

gm! Yes this is one of our favorite topics. Verifiable credentials are private data points, stored locally with the user in what we call the data vault. If allowed by the user, we can access these data points to derive zk-proofs from them to state things about this account towards a verifier. We also feed the credentials into the SOLID Score.

The „privacy control“ is a feature that allows users to toggle the level of accessibility towards their verifiable credentials. You want to be as transparent as possible in return for most ecosystem benefits and SOLID points but you can opt out at any point and keep data with you.

Anyway, at no point users get doxed. We don’t care who you are, but what footprint you have :slightly_smiling_face:

Considering that there are already Identity solutions on the other high-frequency chains, it only makes sense that there should also be a flagship Identity Protocol on Solana. The functions would also benefit the LFG Launchpad itself in order to target suitable wallet addresses for the launch of new projects, while at the same time users benefit from Data to Earn. Not only a big win for users but also for Jupiter.

This is an idea whose time has come. News of the changes to EU AML rules have been percolating on twitter for a few days, and although the fud is largely unfounded (I wish more people actually read the articles rather than just the headlines), it is certainly true that KYC will have to move from ‘just’ being on CEX, to being at the wallet level. Given the EU’s incoming eIDAS2 legislation, it seems like a perfect opportunity to create wallets capable of being KYCd without the need for unnecessary privacy-invasion.

If Solana does not have a solution to this, it will become harder to use Sol as a point of withdrawal from defi, or may see other chains stealing our lunch.

Agreed. KYC has become a term with a negative stigma in crypto - while the idea at its core is not to take away the permissionless nature of web3 but to install a level of safety to decentralized systems. And we’re seeing DEXs on eth react to this (Uniswap hooks, 1inch‘s internal compliance solution, …).

We believe there is a middle line to walk: zk-KYC is a win for all involved.

I think its absolutely critical to build trusted data markets, especially with the technology at hand that provides ownership and the possibilities of earnings from your verifiable reputation.

Ive always thought it would be cool to craft such an ability to “stake” your credentials aka reputation in advertising - rather then FAANGs just doing it without “consent” or you having any knowledge where when or how, or any traceability in doing so.

Like, for me id stake my credentials in four wheel driving campaigns, news and deals etc.

Because I am interested in it, and would find value added to my life.

Id also enjoy revoking that when ever i like.

Broader society needs to realise that the killer app of blockchain in combination with open source tech and open standards, is decentralised identity.

About time we have a project like this in Solana ecosystem relating to digital ID. What better place than Jup. See potential here if they can pull this off.

I know Simon’s (flawless) reputation for a while now and I personally 100% support an identity focussed project building on Solana. The (D)ID space is slowly growing some attention in WEB3 and is all in all very much needed to make our life easier, safer and more controllable from certain perspectives (I’m looking at you SSI ;)) . Let’s go $SOLID! Peace Toatse x

Legend  thanks for kind words ser and yes, if ppl are looking for credible projects with visionary teams and strong communities, I recommend checking identity projects! Still underrated niche.

In the complex world we live in today with so much fraud and identity theft, it has never been more necessary to verify your identity.

Identity narrative is waking up more and more and it is nice to see that now we will have a solid project build for Solana ecosystem!

Also I really like Data-2-Earn (D2E) model and Reputation Staking (RS), makes ecosystem robust where data sharing is encouraged and reputation is secured by financial commitments.

LFG!

Its cool but im a litle on the fence with the progression of kyc laws and the broader financial institutions cbdc’s and how that might impact users to interact on solana. If one thing is for sure people are leaving cex for dex. Whats preventing this in time becoming a wrap around service for banks and or government to manage kyc basically requiring dsid prior to address ownership?

Great project, our team at Divvy.bet are looking into possibly integrating identity tokens in the future when we formally enter markets such as a US and UK. With strict KYC rules, would we be able to offer our players a way to have their KYC done with you guys then receive an ID token back which would only give our smart contract read permission on limited information such as age and state of residence? I believe that this would allow us to respect our players wish to stay anonymous while also complying with local regulations.

Thanks for posting and working on such a great project!

Your answer doesn’t really answer the fundamental question for the case where someone takes the money and runs.
