JUP & JUICE Work Group (JJWG) Trial Proposal

Introducing the JUP & JUICE Working Group (JJWG)

The members of JJWG have been active contributors to the JupiterDAO since inception. Originally we started as the “Voter Empowerment Working Group (VEWG)”. After refining our plan and better understanding the needs of the DAO pivoted to something with a more realistic scope.

To date, we’ve hosted over a dozen episodes of the podcast. We’ve also provided critical support to DAO by regularly broadcasting events and providing ambassadorship to other communities.

We were the first and only group to receive micro-grants from the CWG and CAWG, which allowed us to scale our capacity. A retrospective case study was written about the journey, which you can review here JUP & JUICE Case Study 7!

We now seek to become a trial working group in order to further commit ourselves to expanding the Jupiverse. The trial will drive more podcasts per week, new content formats, short-form content, more platforms and more DAO content support.

Why We Are Here

DAO engagement has been constrained to Discord. There are around 700 daily users on discord, there are 500,000+ unique voting wallets and many other users within the ecosystem that are unattended to by Discord.

We take the DAO beyond Discord, showcasing its voices and stories, and connecting to other communities.

Expand: Why We Are Here

JJWG views everyone as a potential DAO participant and voter. However, DAO engagement is mostly limited to Discord, often only during and briefly after votes.

JJWG extends DAO communications to other mediums and platforms, increases participation, and provides ambassadorship for the DAO and Jupiter.

Our goal is to provide content and services that capture attention beyond Discord.

By leveraging JUP & JUICE and JUICECAST services, we simplify complex topics like tokenomics, budgets, airdrops, and ASR rewards, which occupy a large portion of Discord discussions and moderation efforts.

JJWG aims to make it easy to understand and participate in the DAO, engage with proposals, and explore Jupiter products.

What We Do

We host regular podcasts, create short and long form content, provide broadcasting support, host for community events, and contribute ambassadorship and touch-points for the community.

Expland What We Do

Expand and Amplify the DAO
Bridge gap between Discord and X showcasing the DAO’s people, culture and events to a broader audience. Providing ambassadorship for the DAO and Jupiter, connecting with new communities.

The DAOs microphone, capturing and representing community voices and events. Offering ambassadorship outside of the DAO.

JUP & JUICE
Podcast and content covering proposals, launchpad details like tokenomics and budgets and offering humanization to individuals involved.

JUICECAST
Manage broadcasting needs for DAO events, providing effortless and quality execution for event hosts, amplifying event reach. JUICECAST will also provide marketing materials (e.g. cinematic posters) for events as a TWG.

Below are some recent JUICECAST highlight metrics.

Working Hours
Provide a contact point in and out of the DAO, with a strong presence in voice chats, support, and outreach. Ambassadorship through consistent and reliable communication.

Reduce Workload for Others
Deliver clear, engaging content on DAO news, events, product updates, and votes.

Elevating Community Voices
We take stories and voices from within the community and show them to the world. We find stories from outside of the community and show them to the community.

Fostering Greater Involvement
Boost engagement during DAO events and votes with JUP & JUICE and JUICECAST.

Alternative Proposal Platform
Offer a fun and accessible platform for sharing proposals with a larger, more diverse audience than Jupresearch.

Grantee and Prospective WG Support
Provide platform that makes progression in the DAO fun and detailed. Used as inspiration and case study behind recently passed DAO grant vote.

Case for DAO Podcast

The podcast industry is booming, we want to put Jupiter in the middle of it and connect with communities and people whilst doing so.

Expand: Case for a DAO Podcast

Why Do We Want a Podcast?

  • Rapid Growth: Podcast listeners grew from 275 million in 2019 to 505 million in 2024, with projections reaching 650 million by 2026

  • Trust & Influence: 87% of Americans trust podcasts more than social media

  • Effective Marketing: 56% of listeners consider a purchase after hearing a podcast ad, power in generating leads.

  • Significant ROI Potential: The booming podcast industry is valued at $23 billion. The Kelce brothers recently signed a $100 million podcast deal with Amazon.

JUP & JUICE Advantage

  • DAO Voice: JUP & JUICE aspires to become a central voice for the Jupiter DAO

  • Reach: Consistency and quality, JUP & JUICE expands the DAO’s reach

  • High Intimacy: There are very few people in Web3, or even the world at large that have the level and understanding of JupDAO that JJWG does. The majority of the people that do are already part of Work Groups or the Core Jupiter team.

  • Established History of Contribution: The JJWG has been leading contributions to Web3 communities for 2 years.

The Web3 Podcast Opportunity:

Web3 podcasts are increasingly relevant as interest in web3 grows.

JUP & JUICE is positioned, with Jupiter DAO’s support, to become a core contributor and uniquely early to the new wave of DAO orientated content.

Web3 Podcast Leader Examples

  • Bankless: Over 200,000 subscribers

  • The Defiant: Known DeFi coverage

  • Crypto Top Trading Signals: Appeals to Web3 traders

Conclusion

The DAO web3 podcast niche represents a promising opportunity for JUP & JUICE and Jupiter DAO. While not a large segment yet, we believe that with high-quality and consistent content beyond the typical trading-oriented coverage there is significant chance for a more people and work-oriented voice in Web3.

Success of other podcasts demonstrates demand for high-quality content, JUP & JUICE is positioned to capitalize on this boom, delivering Jupiverse content to an existing and growing audience. Additionally, Solana-centric podcasts have yet to hit the same stride as Ethereum-centric podcasts. We believe we’re uniquely positioned to aggregate this gap as a non-technical and normie-friendly venture.

Problems and Solutions

We present solutions to challenges found through active contribution to experientially by being active members of the DAO over the last 7+ months. Discord’s reach pales in comparison to other platforms, by being touch points out of the Discord and bringing community stories to life JJWG seeks to address many problems. In general, before JJWG efforts. DAO engagement and culture was limited to discord.

Here is a full list of episodes:

Our original budget was for 3-months, after sourcing expert opinions on the matter; we decided to increase our trial to 4 months and focus on editing.

We felt this additional time would give the DAO a clearer picture to ultimately evaluate our viability as a Full Work Group.

Where We Go From Here

The trial unlocks our journey towards robust distribution, media presence and highlighting community stories like never before.

Expand Where We Go From Here

The trial will allow us to find our road towards the lofty goals we wish to accomplish.

Some key objectives are:

  • Build towards a world-class podcast: Find our road towards becoming a leading podcast.

  • Scaling and Distribution: Shipping content to more platforms and working towards robust content distribution and media profile. Other platforms slated for this trial are; YouTube, Spotify and TikTok.

  • More Podcasts and Streams: Before the trial, we were doing between 1-2 JUP & JUICE podcasts per week as well as 4-5 JUICECAST streams.

During trial we will be doing more podcasts per week (2-3) and several other streams, such as DEFI JUP JAM and DAO events.

  • Build the Brand and Legitimacy: Through consistency and effort, establish tracks to establish the brand as a touch-point for the community.

  • Jupiter in the Centre of Web3 Podcasts: Work towards putting the community and their stories out into the ecosystem, whilst striving to position Jupiter in the epicenter of web3 podcasts and creators.

  • Net Positive to the Space for Years to Come: Work consistently to bring value to the ecosystem as a whole and define the journey to getting there.

That’s the best-looking proposal I’ve seen so far!

The budget is reasonable (even humble maybe), the ability to execute is proven dozens of times, consistency is proven over months. This would be an easy one for me.

Good luck, bois! :fist_right: :fist_left:

JJWG is the role model for working groups. Definitely a YES for me!
And amazing proposal. I’m jealous of how you make this amazing infographics and images. :beverage_box: :green_heart:

I support this. Whilst 50k seems a lot I’m sure most won’t even be utilised. You guys put in great work

A typical case of an emerging workgroup, the first one. Congratulations, there’s nothing missing from your proposal.

I just have one question: have you ever thought of extending your model beyond English to other regional language communities?

Yes we have aspirations to do so involving other catdets where possible but It is something we would aim to tackle beyond trail at fully fledged work groups stage, if the DAO offers us the opportunity

This is extremely reasonable and the value illustrated speaks for itself. The engagement numbers are phenomenal, the increased reach of dao events has spoken for itself. I am really looking forward to what you guys will be able to achieve with a full time salary and being able to hit this thing as hard as you want to.

Jup & Juice Baby.

Great job guys!

50k does seem a lot though. I wonder.

Hopefully the effect is good.

I love the service for expanding reach and building on the JUP marketing, as that is a constant necessity for the long term of JUP.

Voting Yes, good luck team!

From me it’s Yes

Well written proposal and I think extra marketing like this is a good idea. Podcasts are also great for many people when living busy lives.

Would be a great place to bring on potential projects for the launch pad as well.

This is a must approve. If we can reward working groups who have demonstrated their C.A.T such as the JJWG then there is no hope for any proposal. They have constantly delivered and went above what was originally planned. IF you read the case study the most important aspect in my mind is the ability to pivot and change. Not to remain flexible. That is key in crypto! You have my vote!

The ask for monthly salary would be based on what work-hours or content delivery? How much can be expected in release schedule given that it is a full-time level salary?

What would be the equipment needs given that almost everyone seems to have recording capabilities or will the production level increase? There are often value-cost alternatives to everything like using an Auna 800b instead of a Blue Yeti, or an Osmo Pocket 3 instead of a Sony Max. Specifically when poscast scenarios are more about audio quality than visual needs (Would argue that most situations are covered with an Macbook Air to begin with unless someone utilizes lighting and resolutions to fullest, all the while 4k is not even needed for a podcast).

What would be real hardline subscription needs, given that let’s say Envato Elements can cover easily at 15$ a month in terms of b-roll, images and even music and in such a format using Adobe Stock or Shutterstock is really excessive and often unnecessary? I hope no one uses Adobe subscription services just for Premiere, given that 2019 or even 2020 can be aquired legally with a cheap key one time purchase and suffices by a mile.

This is not meant as criticism, just to get a better understanding of funds usage in advance.

Congrats guys on your efforts this far.

You’ve dedicated a lot of time and filled a gap in the CWG left by departing members.

It’s only right that you should be paid for your time.

Looking forward to what’s to come for the JJWG and the JupiterDAO community as a whole.

Featuring all activities on discord on X.
Is there a way activity on X can be featured on discord too?
Is there going to be more to the activity by Jup and Juice apart from re-broadcasting event ?
