Good cat nominations - recognising members

Yeah you raise a good point.

I’ve personally always had the mentality of “let the team decide” however we can’t keep everyone happy.

The JUP team are arguably a lot smarter than us and know what’s best for the project, hence I’m all for letting whatever happens , happen.

I like the idea. The only problem I see is that some people have much more reach than others. This would automatically „promote“ more famous people because more people of the community know them.

Additionally not everyone is contributing in the space with the social aspect and I tell that because I am a builder and my focus isn’t on the social level but on building qualitative applications for users.

I like the idea of people nominating people but something is missing imo.

Don’t think contributions are focused on social aspects. It’s about anything you do that helps the ecosystem thrive. You being a ‘builder building qualitative applications’ in the space is part of exactly what Mei and Meow were talking about. Think all what we got to do as individual is get these forms when they are available, make our case & submit & the team goes through to verify. So even if you get nominated in here or not, it doesn’t matter. It’s all about what you’ve contributed with the evidence to back it.

Absolutely mate, that is the most PPP way possible of doing this.

I also think those who have made good contributions in this DAO should be something that is considered

Love the idea, mate. A good execution would be the key here. And hoping to god that someone nominates me :yum: :upside_down_face:

Yes 100% man.

The frivolous ones would be filtered out

Plus we’d need evening of contribution not

“Person X helped me” we need evidence ofc

What’s the point of making others to tell what you or anyone else has done? Isn’t it quite simple to just self report your contributions and let the team evaluate what it has been worth?

Hey Lochie, hope you had a good holidays friend.

It’s funny… after reading the title and opening up your thread I was thinking, “there should be a way for us to give credit to people in the community” - without being too soppy I was actually thinking about you; I think you do a great job on the forum, keeping conversations moving, trying to stay balanced and you help keep everything from descending into chaos! And more recently your twitter, and then there was your proposal standing right in front of me!

I think this is a great idea.

Some people might not think they have necessarily done enough to warrant nominating themselves, whereas others in the community might view it differently, that those individuals are adding value somewhere that might not be in the typical avenues, engendering ‘good cat’ culture, provoking thoughtful debate, etc. - hence I think this is a good way for those people to get recognised (if the team sees this as valuable).

It might be difficult to orchestrate though?

Because some people don’t feel comfortable doing

I personally don’t want to vouch for myself and tell myself why I’m so good for the community.

I’d rather someone do it if they felt the need.

I find it very cringe to pump my own bag and tell someone how good I am or something. That’s just not who I am.

I respect your opinion, but I think to Implement ppp We need to be able to nominate each other with evidence

Well bro, what’s your twitter @? I’ll give you a follow!

That’s super kind of you to write that. To be honest, I engage with JUP research because I care about the future of $JUP And want to be the best possible.

The thing about me in here: Is the fact that I don’t just say yes to everything. I critique the fuck out of everything And make sure I present my views in a respectful manner.

But I just wanted to say thank you so much for those kind words

Let me give an example of this

A user name Chad Sent me 100 USD When I got liquidated. I told him not to, but he insisted it anyway because he’s a good cat. He cares about me and had my back.

Now if he was to self nominate, can you imagine how uncomfortable He would feel to say “give Me more JUP bc I sent some to Lochie When he got liquidated”

For me, I’d rather write a fucking essay about him! He’s an absolute legend

Ok I understand this.

Got it.

It would be quite much work for the team to go through this process. I was thinking maybe they could use the appreciation stats but that only represents Discord while there are some people outside Discord who you may wish to lift up.

Let’s see. Morten said there will most likely not be nomination but maybe for the future, they could improve / expand the appreciation system so people could get recognized even if they are not in Discord.

Yeah appreciations would be a great idea
There is an option to submit wallet on the site too

Hope the expansion of the appreciation system happens soonest across all Jup platforms.

Self nomination is self praise, community nomination is good but some may ended up not being nominated whatever way people should able to nominate more than one person. Everyone contribution is vital. Be a Good Cat be yourself and help other to group.

this will be cool if the intricacy can be well sorted and implemented
