Good cat nominations - recognising members

Agree with your point!

I think it would get filtered. Me I would have the final call.

Yeah it crossed my mind of the cartel type nature.

But I think leaving the final call the mei would suffice.

For example I can’t just go “I wanna nominate you because he onboarded 3 new users “ I would need to show evidence of that.

No evidence = void

Where did this idea come from?

In the end we wouldn’t want this to be a popularity contest. I would say, if this were to pass, that we should base nominations based on the engagement users generated / concrete evidence of suggested improvements/proposals.

Based on my review (and always being fully transparent) i only lightly tick all off the boxes, but at the end it will be up to the evaluation team to decide on this.
I think that peer-to-peer in my view is a soft skill and this addition to this evaluation is awesome. It kinda does fit well in the whole scope as soft skills give more warmth to the community and really help community members to feel → JUP is home. :twisted_rightwards_arrows:

It’s a good idea in the global picture !

But the only problem is people will nominate influenceurs or friends and not people who helped them along the way to onboard them on jupiverse.

So the same people will be mentionned and share the pie between them. And it’s contrary according jup Ethos and PPP vision.

Let’s have a big pie for everyone !

Yes indeed. We will make it together. This is kinda the only place where I can trully say WAGMI  :heart_eyes_cat: :rocket: :muscle:

I think bad actors could be eliminated if we ask for proof.

We can’t just be like “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine”.

Plus I’m sure the peer to peer nominations would be filter by CaWG (who are active in JUP discord daily). We’d know exactly who had shown up every day and who hasn’t!

Don’t be so hard on yourself bro you’ve done a lot: from providing info to new members, supporting me and having my back when I got liquidated, dm’ ing me ensuring em everything is okay as well as providing a welcoming community.

That alone is a huge asset to JUP.

Gotta member if someone joins the community and the first thing they see is a possitive message from you it sets an example of what they can expect!

Yeah this will be a concern but here’s how we combat it.

  1. Why are they nominating that peson?
  2. Do they have evidence of this?
  3. Is it a worthy nomination?

This is a solid take and I whole heartedtly agree.

*I think you’re being modest about “lightly ticking the boxes” tho.:crown:

Like everything there are pros and cons which have already been mentioned. I trust Mei and CAWG to filter through all the crap. Can we nominate unlimited people?

Great Idea. Lets win together with real Homies nomination :handshake:

Yeah kinda why I was saying the team should just use the forum and a few other platforms perhaps as a way of picking cats by using the current engagement tools here and elsewhere to avoid popularity contests. They probably can see who is posting regularly on X. Or who is onboarding new members.
I feel the team needs to decide such a thing and not make it a community “contest’ by accident. I know the team wants openness and community decisions. But some things are just best left to the team.
I also think the entire process gets unnecessarily complicated when a simple tool like this forum is available.

We don’t know yet, but I’d say so!
