Update to JupSOL

We have a few key important updates for JupSOL, in our push towards helping users land transactions on Solana.

We’re delegating SOL to a new research firm, called Temporal.

Temporal is a up & coming research team, dedicated to driving core research forward. We’re looking forward to supporting their efforts in this regard, helping to research key technologies such as SWQoS, QUIC, and improvements to enhance Solana’s performance.

We’re focused on our key goals of our validator & JupSOL, which is to continue landing transactions smoothly and reliably for our users. Part of this delegation would be to support the research and development of such tools that can benefit Jupiter in the future.

Additionally, we will continue to earn priority fees / block rewards on our SOL staked to these validators.

We’re transitioning our Validator to this research firm to help support core Solana research.

Important Notes for APY

  • This move is expected to enhance Native APY, and boost Jupiter Validator to be a top-performing validator
  • The increase in Native APY will attract more Native stakers, who contribute to priority fee revenue on JupSOL, thus boosting JupSOL’s yield.

We’re excited to work with Temporal and the wider ecosystem to continue driving the chain forward by building cool apps.

This transition process will take a few weeks:

  1. Starting with 500K delegation to Temporal
  2. Migrating Jupiter Validator to Temporal
  3. Delegating the rest of the 500K SOL.

So effectively this is whats happening
-Better validator
-More PAY
-Slow transition.

My questions is: do they have a proven track record? can we trust?

Now that is some great news that JUPSOL (which is 90% of my $SOL portfolio) will get some extra juice in APY. Very happy to hear as well that it will push the Jupiter Validator on the top of the chain. All of this will definetly bring in more people to JUPSOL.

Keep the excellence coming! :rocket:

What would you say to someone asking about the difference between Tradiitional stake and LSTs like JupSOL? What´s the main benefit for the staker?

With a Traditional stake , Validator fees and rewards get added to your balance. Validators Can take a certain percentage cut of those fees.

Most valid commission as 0% for example, However, just before the epoch Ends, they can rug by making the commission 100%. Your staked sol Is still 100% safe, But they effectively taking all the commission.

With an LST those Token rewards automatically reinvested into the to. So picture this: Everyone who holds the token is reinvesting their staked sol. That’s what drives the APY

Yeap

Update: The first 500K SOL has been delegated to Temporal Emerald.

The next step would be to move the validator to them, which is not expected to impact APY.
