Proposal: Token Claim via Custom Links on Jupiter Mobile

Currently, Jupiter Mobile allows users to invite friends and send them SOL, which they can claim upon joining. This proposal suggests expanding the system to allow users to create custom token claim links, enabling seamless token transfers to both new and existing Jupiter Mobile users.

How It Would Work:

  • Custom Token Rewards: Users can create links to send verified tokens (e.g., $JUP or other tokens listed on Jupiter) in customizable amounts. For example, you could send someone 0.1 SOL + 10 JUP with a single claim link.
  • Universal Access: These links can be shared with new users who haven’t been onboarded yet or existing Jupiter Mobile users. Recipients simply use the link to claim their tokens via Jupiter Mobile.
  • Verified Token Restriction: To ensure security and prevent spam, only tokens verified on Jupiter can be used for these custom claim links.
  • Anti-Spam Measures: Limits on the number of claims per link or requiring minimal wallet interaction can be implemented to avoid abuse.

Use Cases:

  1. Onboarding New Users: Simplify the onboarding process by sending a link containing tokens as a welcome reward (e.g., “Claim your reward and start using Jupiter Mobile!”).
  2. Community Rewards: Enable token transfers for community giveaways, contests, or rewards, even without requiring an invite process.
  3. Peer-to-Peer Transfers: Facilitate smooth token transfers between Jupiter Mobile users for personal or community purposes.
  4. Independent Token Campaigns: Beyond Jupiter’s native ecosystem, other token communities can use this system for their own giveaways or rewards. For example, a token project could distribute their tokens to their holders using Jupiter Mobile’s secure and user-friendly interface.

How It Would Work:

  1. Creating a Claim Link:
  • Users access a dedicated section (formerly the “Invite Friends” screen, but rebranded for broader use).
  • Select the tokens they want to send from their wallet (e.g., $SOL, $JUP, or other verified tokens).
  • Define the amount of each token to include in the link.
  • Specify the number of uses for the link (e.g., a link can be used by up to 5 recipients).
  • Verify their balance to ensure they have sufficient tokens for the transaction.
  1. Managing the Link:
  • Users can view active links and track their usage (e.g., how many claims have been made, and by who).
  • Links can be manually deactivated at any time if the user decides to cancel the reward distribution.
  • Optionally set an expiration date for the link to ensure timely claims.
  1. Claiming the Tokens:
  • Recipients click the link and are directed to Jupiter Mobile.
  • If they’re new users, they onboard and create a wallet to claim the tokens.
  • Existing users can claim the tokens directly into their wallet with a click.

Security Measures:

  • Verified Tokens Only: Only tokens that are verified on Jupiter can be used to prevent scams or low-quality tokens from being distributed.
  • Anti-Spam Protections: Implement limits on the number of links or total claims a user can create within a certain time frame to prevent abuse.
  • Transparency for Senders: A clear breakdown of token balances and link details ensures users have full control over their transactions.

Custom token claim links would elevate Jupiter Mobile’s utility, making it a go-to tool for token distribution, onboarding, and community engagement. By supporting both new and existing users and integrating robust security features, this feature could drive adoption not just for Jupiter’s ecosystem but also for external communities. This would position Jupiter Mobile as a versatile platform for decentralized token management and rewards.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!

This is an amazing idea.

I think in particular for the onboarding people to JUP

Image this scenario

  1. You onboard a stranger
  2. You teach them about JUP and how to stake
  3. You give them a small JUP welcome gift

Thanks, Lochie!

That’s exactly the vision. Making onboarding more engaging and meaningful with a small JUP welcome gift.

Great initiative!

Seamless introductions and transfers of verified tokens would be great for onboarding new people into Jupiverse!

it would be kind of like a “TIP-AIRDROP” button.

is a good idea to onboard new users,
and as mentioned you can also attach new projects token airdrops.

you can tip 1JUP to people and also head them to small community airdrops,
instead of claiming 50cents airdrop trough ASR, tip them, airdrop them,
and let them use jupiter exchange to swap to whatever they want,
it is a great way to introduce new comers.

1JUP is like a dollar.
someone gave me 1ETC from half way across the world when it was a dollar…
I still have it, xD.

not a bad concept, but it has a lot of technicalities.

I’ve tried this out to onboard a few people with JUPITER MOBILE and it really works. Now my question is this the same as the referral link generated on Jup.ag?

Thanks for your feedback! There are definitely some technical challenges, but the idea of combining small rewards with seamless interaction feels worth pursuing further!

As a stakeholder with 3,075.197868 JUP staked on the platform, I’m excited about this proposal and the potential it has to expand Jupiter Mobile’s utility, foster community growth, and make $JUP more versatile and accessible. However, I want to share my perspective—including my optimism and some concerns—as someone genuinely invested in the ecosystem.

What I Like About This Proposal

  • Streamlined Onboarding: The claim link feature simplifies the process of bringing new users into the ecosystem. Being able to share tokens tightly integrated with Jupiter Mobile feels user-friendly and aligns with the goal of growing the community.

  • Versatility: Whether for giveaways, peer-to-peer transactions, or even external use by other project communities, this feature adds serious utility. It positions Jupiter Mobile as more than just a wallet—becoming a broader management system for decentralized token distribution.

  • Security and Anti-Spam Protections: Restricting the system to verified tokens and introducing spam safeguards are key steps to ensure the integrity of the feature, preventing bad actors from exploiting the claim links or distributing worthless tokens.

  • Growth for Jupiter Ecosystem: This proposal clearly supports onboarding new users and engaging external projects, both of which could increase $JUP’s exposure, adoption, and (hopefully) long-term value in wider token ecosystems.

Concerns and Considerations

With my 3,075 JUP staked, I do have some concerns about how this might impact token holders like me if it’s not implemented carefully. The key areas that I believe deserve attention are:

  1. Potential for Inflation or Overdistribution:
While onboarding is important, distributing too many tokens through claim links could risk oversupply, especially if adoption doesn’t keep pace with distribution. This could dilute the value of $JUP for existing token holders. I would hope to see reasonable caps on how many tokens can be distributed via this system, perhaps with quarterly or annual limits.

  2. Abuse of the System:
Anti-spam measures are mentioned, but ensuring they’re robust is critical. Without safeguards like wallet interaction history checks, link validity tied to wallet activity, or limits on claims per individual, bot networks or malicious actors might exploit the feature.

  3. Balance Between New and Existing Users:
While onboarding new users is crucial, this shouldn’t come at the expense of loyal community members and stakeholders. I’d advocate for mechanisms that reward long-term stakers like myself for actively promoting Jupiter Mobile or creating these claim links. It would strike a better balance by incentivizing existing holders while still encouraging growth.

  4. Transparency & Impact Tracking:
Once implemented, I’d love to see regular updates on its performance. Metrics like how many users onboarded, the total value distributed in tokens, and engagement levels would assure the community that this system is effectively driving adoption.

Suggestions to Improve This Proposal

  1. Introduce distribution caps: A cap on the total number of tokens distributed through claim links (quarterly or annually) would prevent oversupply while still allowing for healthy onboarding and engagement.

  2. Incentivize stakers to promote the network: Reward users like me, who have significant stakes in $JUP, for creating claim links that onboard new users. For example, a small percentage of the distributed tokens could be refunded to the sender as a reward.

  3. Strengthen anti-abuse mechanisms: Ensure robust validation for wallets claiming tokens (e.g., require a minimum wallet interaction threshold or use unique wallet identifiers) to prevent abuse by bots or fake accounts.

  4. Provide special features for stakers: Offer tiered benefits for token holders with significant stakes. For instance, active stakers who hold at least 1,000 JUP could unlock additional claim link uses, higher claim limits, or more customization features.

  5. Share transparent data and progress reports: Regular updates on how the system is performing (e.g., user growth, token distribution, successful claims) would help build community trust and demonstrate the utility of the system.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’m in favor of this proposal! It has exciting potential to grow Jupiter Mobile’s user base, make $JUP more accessible, and give me and other stakeholders new ways to actively engage with both our tokens and the broader community.

That said, I’d feel even more confident if this system accounted for inflation risks, incentivized stakers, and incorporated strong measures to deter abuse. I want this to succeed—not just for the new users onboarded, but for all of us who have actively supported and contributed to the Jupiter ecosystem thus far.

Thank you for presenting such a forward-thinking idea! I’m excited to see the community’s thoughts and how this feature evolves.

Wow, that comment is longer than the actual proposal. Thank you for your feedback! However, I feel the need to clarify a few points:

This feature doesn’t introduce new tokens into circulation, so there’s no risk of inflation. For this reason, your concern is unnecessary.

This issue is already addressed in the proposal under the following section:

This should ultimately be up to the individual user. Additionally, my proposal applies not just to $JUP but also to other verified tokens, making it a broader system rather than one solely focused on $JUP.

As a staker myself, I don’t see why the mobile application should have features specifically benefiting stakers. I believe this is separate from governance and DAO-related matters, and the focus here should remain on usability for all token holders.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback! It’s always great to hear different perspectives, and your points helped clarify some important aspects of the proposal. Appreciate your input!
