Not Every Silent Catdet Is a Role Farmer: Good Cats Contribute Beyond Discord

As Jupiter prepares to reward Good Cats, it’s important to ensure that the selection process fairly represents all dedicated contributors. Lately, I’ve noticed some discussions suggesting that some of us Catdets who got busy after earning the role and couldn’t keep chatting on Discord are being labeled as role farmers. That one no too pure. While Discord is where we were granted the Catdet role, contributions go far beyond just chatting. Engaging with Jupiter’s posts on Twitter, voting on governance proposals, and supporting IRL events are all meaningful ways Catdets continue to add value to the Jupiverse.

The reality is, life happens. Many of us juggle school, work, bills, and other real-world commitments that make it hard to be as active on Discord as before. But that doesn’t mean our dedication to Jupiverse has faded. We still push Jupiter forward, just in ways that aren’t always visible in Discord chat logs. Supporting the platform publicly, amplifying its mission, and participating in governance are just as impactful as being present in the server. If the Good Cats reward only considers Discord activity, it risks sidelining long-term supporters who continue to contribute in different but valuable ways.

To ensure fairness, the reward selection process should take a broader approach in assessing engagement. While Discord activity can remain a factor, since that’s where we received the Catdet role, contributions outside of it should also hold weight. This could include analyzing Twitter engagement, governance participation, and event support. A balanced system that acknowledges both on-chain and off-chain efforts will encourage a more diverse and committed community, ensuring that Good Cats are truly recognized for their impact rather than just their chat presence. So, all Catdets should be eligible for the Good Cats reward.

Ultimately, the goal is to foster an inclusive and thriving Jupiverse, where every form of meaningful contribution is valued. By expanding the definition of an active Good Cat, we create a fairer system that rewards those who genuinely uplift the community—whether through conversations, governance, content creation, or real-world advocacy. Jupiter has always been about collaboration and innovation, and ensuring an equitable recognition system will strengthen these core values.

Hello,

Thanks for your thoughts. Here’s an explanation on how Goodcats were reviewed.

I would like to clarify some of your points:

  1. All Catdets even non-Catdets are considered, as long as they have submitted a form & provided evidence to their meaningful contributions. This was open from Jan to Feb 2025.
  2. Contributions go beyond Discord to platforms like X/Twitter, Reddit, and Jupresearch.
  3. Criteria used are: Engagement/Consistency and Impact.

If you have any follow-up questions. Let us know!

A great example of precisely addressing concerns! If issues like these aren’t met with factual and respectful responses, legitimate concerns can easily be exploited by those seeking to spread conspiracies or create division.

Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate the transparency in the selection process. I had some concerns because of the way “role farming” was being thrown around, but it’s good to see that contributions beyond Discord were considered.

That said, I think some Catdets might have missed the form deadline or were unaware that they needed to submit evidence. Would there be any opportunity for reconsideration or future rounds for those who actively contribute but didn’t submit the form in time?

Thanks again for taking the time to address this! :rocket:

Well everyone is a farmer in the jupiverse or in the great anyverse. Everyone in the world works for rewards to some extent. Be it satisfaction in doing good or getting rewarded by creating a great product or making financial gains by various means. It’s good to address this.

Could you clarify that it’s not just cadet’s that may be recipients of the good cat’s rewards. Right? Edit ah see it you mentioned it. Even non-cadet’s are considered.

Even none cadets are considered, and it was stated that discord activities wouldn’t be the only consideration..

i know im no role farmer and I feel my involvement is sometimes dismissed due to inability to maintain constant feed like a bot.

humans sleep.
maybe we need a more realistic involvement methods. its so hard to follow everything

I cant even crack the good cat role as it isnt really my focus. Im a disabled vet and I want to speak for the others who cannot daily be involved due to illnesses.

I participate the best I can. I know Ive created prositive feedback and ideas throught the jupiverse despite the heavy negative reinforcement except for a few og’s

I will keep trying

Actually, every good cat has to fill in the form provided by the Jupiter team, and fill in the details correctly, it’s simple.

To put it simply and a waste of time, this road gets you nowhere, crumbs for pigeons.
