We have seen a lot of posts about Jupuary Airdrop, but I would like to focus on one of my favorite parts of the DAO in hopes to improve or spark a new idea. One of the biggest draws to the JUP DAO initially was the LFG token launches. I loved the community introductions, the voting and learning about new products. While that’s how I got here, the JUP community is what made me stay.
I know we haven’t heard much about the LFG launchpad lately except that we may look to go permissionless on it. I had an idea that could either be a part of LFG or maybe a new branch of LFG. Pump.Fun is gaining a tremendous amount of profits launching coins. I think LFG could be a rival to pump.fun allowing for the launch of some of these meme coins. I am not the biggest fan of memes but I believe they are inevitable. If we can’t stop them, why not be a part of them. It could be a coordinated effort where the coins are launched and included on JUP’s token list. This may make them a little safer as well. To utilize the service maybe a percentage is given to the dao included in ASR. Instead of the .75 percent maybe 5 percent. (SInce memes are a little more volatile) I know a lot of them are not around for very long but this may be a way to find some quality memecoins. This may also get more of the DAO involved in those coins which should be good for the memecoin as well. We would just need to ensure it is PPP when it comes to the memes haha,
Just some thoughts on how to maybe spark some interest or fun back into the LFG launchpad or even making a memecoin launchpad with the jupiter brand since Pump.fun is selling all the SOL fees they are accruing. Could be beneficial to JUP as well as SOL. Any thoughts are appreciated.
I appreciate your points and was not aware of minting on metora. My first desire is to have them launch on the LFG launchpad and utilize some form of fee structure so the DAO can benefit and possibly get in together on some good meme coins. I know we have Ape.pro but that is for trading meme coins. I want to either A have them launch or B have an LFG memecoin launch where they are already integrated into JUP.
This is a solid suggestion; however, I still believe the original concept behind the LFG launchpad was outstanding. The main challenge was the high expectations and heavy responsibilities placed on jupiter team, CWG and the Jupiter community in general by projects hoping to launch on the Jupiter platform. If the launch process could be streamlined—making it easier for these promising projects to get started without the burdensome, lengthy initial requirements—and if Jupiter could implement thoughtful adjustments on how it benefits from these launches, I believe the platform could become a stronger product overall, rather than merely a competitor to Pump.Fun.
Yea I get it and I guess I need to better communicate my thoughts as they are everywhere. I wasn’t just suggesting a pump.gun competitor just different avenues where LFG could thrive. As you stated original is awesome and as instated that feeling when it was close was awesome. I was just thinking of another avenue for LFG that goes along with ape.pro that could benefit the DAO. In no way would I want to get rid of LFG for utility projects.
I totally get that you weren’t suggesting this, @Rico_JHE. I think your proposal was timely and sparked a great discussion on this LFG topic—especially with potential updates coming from the Jup Rally call tomorrow. Perfect timing!
