We’re launching Jupiter Lock (in beta)!

Jupiter Lock (https://lock.jup.ag/) is an open-sourced, audited and free way to lock and distribute tokens over-time.

Lock will be free for all project teams to lock tokens, implement cliff, and vest non-circulating supply in a clear and transparent manner. Jupiter Lock currently has 2 audits (Sec3, OtterSec) and will be audited once more.

We started Jupiter Lock to help drive C.A.T (Certainty, Alignment, Transparency) principles that we believe in, and build trust within communities. By introducing Jupiter Lock, we are taking steps to achieve the following:

  1. Certainty for token holders. Token holders can view information regarding distribution of circulating and non-circulating supply of their tokens in a single site.
  2. Alignment between key stakeholders. By locking, vesting, and burning tokens, project teams are signalling to the community their long-term commitment in building.
  3. Transparency on token distribution. Everyone will be able to view each slice of the pie and make more informed decisions as a current or potential token holder.

Now, any team can provide CAT to their community. Jupiter Lock is a public good for the ecosystem to use and with every lock created, we are moving towards a world of C.A.T.

Jupiter Lock is made for both projects and users.

  1. Projects can trustlessly lock tokens for various parties to align incentives. As a project team, you can configure parameters such as vesting, cliff period, unlock schedule.

  2. Projects can burn tokens by setting the recipient wallet address to a burn address and this ensures that actions like dumping are curbed on the team level. These will be embedded into the smart contract and vest accordingly.

  3. Users can view all locks associated with each token powered by Jupiter Lock. Distribution complexity such as percentage of tokens belonging to different groups (team, DAO, presale, investors) and percentage of tokens belonging to various purposes (airdrop, liquidity bootstrapping) are shown transparently.

Jupiter Lock is a game-changer for the crypto community! Like the idea that JUP lock can be offered to other projects as service. You build one architecture that is scalable and offer it to public. Great! I see a great use for projects that don’t want to have the token unlocks in-house. In case JUP is not getting anything with it, it will at least bring in more public to the ecosystem and grow reputation. Since its in beta, i am sure that future will bring more features with it and that includes a detailed dashboard. Looking forward to it!
