Hey Cey!

Thanks for asking.

Absolutely, the unique aspect of networks like Depin lies in leveraging real-world devices, offering tangible benefits for businesses:

  1. Competitive Pricing Analysis: Instead of simulating a location using services like VPNs, DePIN employs actual devices worldwide for live price monitoring. This method avoids censorship and ensures the accuracy of competitive pricing strategies.

  2. Website Accessibility Testing: DePIN’s use of real devices in various locations provides authentic insights into global website accessibility, including specific network conditions like 3G. In other words, if you’re a company that requires the most accurate report of how reachable your website is on 3G worldwide, you can only really do that by pinging your site across a network of real mobile devices.

  3. Localized Market Research: By accessing data through real user devices in targeted regions, businesses gain accurate market insights, reflecting genuine consumer behavior and preferences.

  4. AI Data Extraction with DePIN: A DePIN network enables AI companies to utilize products such as an “Auto Reader Only” API for extracting clean, reader-friendly text from websites globally. This process filters out irrelevant information and advertisements. The key advantage here is DePIN’s use of real-world devices, which bypasses geo-restrictions ensuring LLMs are ingesting accurate, localized, and clutter-free content.

In essence, DePIN makes AI better. The DePIN approach of using actual devices enriches data tasks with real-world accuracy, offering a mutually beneficial model for both businesses and data contributors (device owners).

I know this team. The launchpad application they made before was very good. Now the team is bigger and the project is great. This team always likes to win

Looks like a cool product but my main negative point is that it seems the product is trying to do to much at once. I’d be fine with a platform that pays me for my extra bandwidth and then gives extra perks for use within web3. It’s just strange to me to have a rewards program that focuses on travel/entertainment. I understand you want to expand the “rewards style” that crypto currently uses but every web3 product that I’ve used that promises these kinds of web2 perks never really sticks.

Why would I use these tokens that I can sell on an open market to buy a flight through your platform? There are travel sites out there where that is the PRIMARY product they have and that is where they are focusing all of the resources. For your project it seems the primary product is the bandwidth sharing with a rewards program on top. Are these rewards deals that much better than just buying with cash? If so, are there consistent examples that can be shared? Where are these “deals” being sourced?

This was basically my impression too. Sounds cool, and some of the stuff sounds like it has real potential (genuine use of AI for customer service etc) but it’s kind of throwing a lot of stuff together and might not have enough focus.

Thanks for saying that! We appreciate you!

We envision that happening. In fact our first strategic partner Koii Network is already creating a marketplace of compute buyers and we’re helping fulfill the demand for mobile data tasks. Thanks for asking Jason. We appreciate the compliment!

Thanks for waiting. This is a great question. We get where you’re coming from – it might seem like we’re trying to juggle too much at once. I’m also aware of the Web3 companies that failed offering web2 perks in the past. But we’re in a totally different era now with AI. We’re building things so crazy fast now. Just two years I would agree with you, but with AI tools at our fingertips, you need to adapt fast and think bigger or someone’s going to eat your lunch.

Early on, we explored various use cases and quickly realized they all needed similar foundational tools. Consider how everyone wants AI to fetch information from the internet, treating it like a vast database. However, today’s AI is somewhat restricted by what it can access. Realizing that all agents fundamentally need the same backbone, we decided to build not just the network but also specific products on top of it, and what is a more aspirational personal AI agent use case than an AI that helps you see the world, make connections, take an adventure. (btw, we’re passionate about this personally - our co-founder and AI architect is a licensed pilot and understands this space well. He always knows how to hack the matrix for great deals when we fly together)

If we hadn’t focused on clear AI agent use cases, we’d face questions about the practical applications of our DePIN network and how it stands out. Many crypto projects begin by developing a network or protocol and then wait for developers to engage. We chose a proactive approach. By exploring areas like Crawling, Proxy, and Travel, we’re actively demonstrating our network’s capabilities, similar to how OpenAI showcased the practical uses of AI with ChatGPT. Before we announced our AI adventure hacker agent, everyone asked us the same thing: show us tangible applications first. That’s exactly what we’re doing, proving the value of our DePIN network through real-world use cases that inspires the possibilities of what AI + DePIN can actually do for you.

And your point about just converting tokens to buy tickets yourself, so you can totally do that. But think about the usual grind of trip planning – hours gone, a bazillion tabs open. It’s a headache we’ve all just accepted. But what if AI could wipe out that hassle? That’s where UpRock swings in. Our AI does the legwork, digging up deals to save you both time and money 24/7. Plus, sticking with web3 means your funds are doing more than just sitting there; they’re earning their keep towards more flights and discounts through UpRock. And we’re drawing in companies and travel packages to drop exclusive deals into the wallets of token holders.

What’s more, when you spend through UpRock, you’re not just spending; you’re earning a kickback in our token. Think about this – traditional rewards programs are like walled gardens. Fly with one airline, and you’re stuck with their points. Expedia nudged the needle a bit, letting you rack up points across different flights, but you’re still in their sandbox. With UpRock, those tokens you earn back are yours to spend wherever, or even better, to snag deals with us. And when we scale to millions of customers with active wallets, that’s collective buying power.

So, when it’s time to book a flight, what’s it gonna be? Years of hoarding Expedia points, or a quick win with swappable tokens on UpRock? :slightly_smiling_face:

After looking at the idle bandwidth play and searching for the upside for Uprock I don’t think the product or its rewards are sustainable.
A lot of projects have tried something similar in the past on a much larger scale, and as more people joined in the rewards get smaller and smaller until it is insignificant. There are a lot of examples.

Beautiful response. Well thought out and includes a lot of information. This helps clear some of my doubts as it seems y’all have been doing good market/product research! Excited to see how it develops out.

Congrats!

In my opinion, targeting B2B customers and becoming a mobile compute power and internet provider for other applications and DEPIN projects adds significant value to the ecosystem. I believe this is a much larger technology than the solution being discussed here.

Hi, where did you see this? In the immortal words of Andre 3000, never ever “forever, forever, ever, forever, ever!” share your private keys

You didn’t answer the question about sustainability.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Could you specify which aspects you believe might not be sustainable? Let me offer a fundamental perspective on this matter. At the heart of human understanding are stories and data about your surroundings, crucial for making sense of our place in the world and guiding adaptation. In an internet era increasingly overwhelmed by data, discerning relevant information becomes a serious, overwhelming challenge. The cost of content creation is going down to zero. AI agents stand to become indispensable by assisting individuals and businesses in navigating information overload, offering tailored insights.

Our conviction lies in the power of decentralization. Insights generated through a vast, decentralized network carry a unique trustworthiness, contrasted with the black box nature of centralized AI systems (ie Google’s Gemini), which often impose heavy-handed and often clumsy filters under the guise of safety. We see this need only growing over time.

Secondly, as you integrate your web3 wallet into daily activities, the AI assistant, designed to optimize your time, save money, and enhance security, will begin to offer personalized recommendations and deals beyond tokens. We’re just scratching the surface of wallet marketing vs email/sms marketing

Thirdly, correct me if I’m wrong, but I agree with you that it can’t just be about “earning tokens” long term. I believe what the DePIN model is revealing in real-time is the evolution of a powerful customer rewards program powered by web3 business models. And with UpRock that rewards program will deliver highly personalized customer service that only AI unlocks. It’s why we’ve stated many times that a robust depin network needs a compelling rewards program beyond just tokens. It’s what those tokens unlock. And web3 protocols break down geobarriers and provide more liquidity overall compared to web2 reward programs. For example: Introducing UpRock! We believe executing these ideas well will hold immense value over time. Hope that helps address your concern. And I’m curious about the past attempts you mentioned that didn’t work out. Thanks again for your time!

UpRock’s Holistic Approach to Tokenomics

We’re excited to unveil the tokenomics model for UpRock!

UpRock Tokenomics

Our approach is designed to generate sustainable value for everyone involved - our customers, team, and contributors. Instead of traditional bulk token distributions, we’re introducing a dynamic, performance-driven system. Inspired by NFT royalties and real-time revenue sharing, this model ensures our token supply grows with our success, aligning the project’s progress with our token holder interests for mutual benefits.

Building on this foundation, we’ll adjust our token’s circulating supply based on revenue, conducting thorough reviews every quarter. A fixed initial supply is key to starting this process. By evaluating the sustainability of our approach quarterly, focusing on the token’s price and our treasury’s holdings, we aim to maintain a stable, thriving ecosystem for all stakeholders. This strategy ensures a transparent and balanced development path for UpRock.
