And yet again, cool down for a moment. Not the best place to go on a crusade. Relax a little and stop pressing so hard.
You can see my opinions too, but it does not really matter in the context of quality in this topic. Tone it down a little and give them time to show progression.
And do not be rude on here, we are all better than that.
Discourse is good, itâs great that we have so many people passionate about the space, we all believe decentralizing infra is the future, more conversations on best practices and path forward as we all evolve with this space is crucial.
@Dabbawala I do understand weâre overtly passionate on our model ( same @Merlin-M-Ostermann ) , in no way do we mean to be dismissive of any of the points that you guys have brought up, itâs on our radar and we have to pick the battles along the way as we launch and scale.
Had a bad day? Calm down son
Il try to answer your concerns from my POV, keep an open mind when reading further
First, I want to correct a misconception. I have participated in multiple forums on this platform. Yes i made this account after learning about Dabba on JUP launchpad but i donât see whats the issue in that or how it adds to the conversation.
and let me address that its not constructive criticism on your part because if you read through its already been answered, but lets try one more time ICYMI
Concern 1
you start with this line to only then say
Thats just contradictory.
The concept of DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks) has evolved since its inception. As the industry grows, new projects naturally expand and redefine what DePIN means. Itâs essential to focus on the actual benefits of these projects rather than rigidly adhering to initial definitions.
Itâs also worth noting that full decentralization is a process. No project - be it an L1, L2, DAO, DApp, or DePIN - can be entirely decentralized from day one. The Dabba has already begun this process by incorporating independent LCOs even before the mainnet launch.
moving on to your next concern
I already gave you truth about ground reality from personal experience but lets try again from scratch
Managed deployment in this context has multiple important facets
Hotspots are installed for end-users who pay fiat subscriptions thus bringing immediate revenue. This revenue is used to buy back and burn tokens, balancing supply and demand from day one.
Since hotspots are deployed to paying end-users, thereâs no incentive to artificially inflate data usage or game the system thus preventing gaming the network which is an issue every depin project faces.
This model helps reach people without existing broadband connections, addressing a critical infrastructure gap on ground
Lets talk about the social impact of managed deployment through aggregation of LCOs that i care about personally because i have family members working in this sector. Now, Dabba aggregates and empowers LCOs, helping to organize a sector that faces numerous challenges, including threat from big telco, territorial issues that comes with vandalism, local politics that lead to bribery and more. Dabba approach gives hope in solving these problems i look forward to see how this gets implemented across various states in the country
next up:
these were not new topics i have introduced, just shows you need to learn more about the project if you think maintaining infrastructure is a joke
For instance: you have said this
the team isnt managing/maintaining the device, infact its not about a device, its about building a network.
LCO + backhaul providers are aggregated to the network to essentially build this out in a decentralized manner. These are independent stakeholders, like the hotspot owners, compensated in Dabba tokens for their work.
Maintaining this infrastructure involves complexities beyond just managing hotspot devices. It includes tasks like backhaul management, last mile connectivuty , security measures, traffic management, customer service, marketing, performance monitoring, preventive and ongoing repair and more - tasks that require specialized skills and experience or maybe you can quit your job and do this full time.
i hope this was informative
If you still have the issue of why you cant have the device, understand the goal right now is not carrier offload, instead to get revenue from broadband connections. You are familiar with Sangli, so If you want the device at your home the easiest way is to contact the LCO and get a Dabba broadband connection over there.
P.S. Of course I know who Dabbawalas are. If itâs a genuine profile name, kudos on multitasking - packing lunches while stumbling into Web3 conversations. Next time eat, you sound hangry
lmao didnt know jup forum could be so entertaining
âhangry fuddersâ make me bullish
i heard jup launchpad isnt goona be live anytime soon, this has dragged on for way too long, its been 3 months since the application here was made. Bonk is starting a launchpad in a similar fashion with meteora lets carry the conversation there and launch asap
