Instant unstake JUP tokens

They want to eat the cake without PPP experiment.

yup exactly.

it is crucial to remember that staking is an absolutely optional activity.

it would be insanely unfair to allow instant unstaking and will allow the whole thing to be gamed beyond belief.

I stated many times over that if you are not willing to lock for 30 days, you really should not be voting.

Voting and ASR is not a free thing - there is a certain amount of commitment and work you need to do in order to participate

I completely agree. Staking is indeed optional and allowing instant unstaking would undermine the entire system by opening it up to manipulation. As you’ve pointed out, if someone isn’t willing to commit to a 30-day lock, they probably shouldn’t be voting. Participation in voting and ASR does require a certain level of commitment and responsibility.

So you will stake say a million tokens, vote, earn a lot of ASR with that, instantly unstake and loose just 10% of it? Don’t you see that is problematic and open to abuse? Who wouldn’t do that? Just stake, vote, instantly unstake & take a 10% cut. That’s not what staking + ASR was designed for

Exactly But sometimes things and cards don’t fall as we Like… There should WIHTOUT a doubt be instant unstake… Not only should any and all rewards be rescinded, maybe back to the stakers, or voted upon, But also an instant unstake should not give the user full unstake ability in the fact that maybe only 30% can be instantly unstaked while Loosing rewards gained and also a one time fee to the number unstaked, Say 5% fee. meaning is you have 1000 JUP staked, you can unstake at Max 300 of them, while giving up ASR rewards and implementing a Fee of possibly 5-10%… 5% of 300 would be giving up an additional 15 JUP whereas 10% would be 30JUP … Soo If you have 1000 Staked and choose to Instant unstake (maybe monetary issues or health, whyever) the most you can get immediately would be 270 from 1000 or 30% plus an additional fee What do you guys think?

You’ve raised valid points that can be addressed without taking extreme measures. For those relying on their investment in Jup for emergencies, it’s not wise to invest everything you have, especially if you can’t instantly access it. I strongly recommend that anyone in this situation set aside an emergency fund that can be liquidated at any time. However, keep in mind that even this comes with risks, as the value may fluctuate. It’s generally not a good idea to hold your daily living or emergency funds in investments, unless they can retain value with near certainty and be quickly liquidated.

If you adopt this mindset, there’s no need to rush into options like instant unstaking and losing a percentage. Staking comes with inherent risks, so only invest what you’re comfortable with—something you’re prepared to leave untouched for 30 days if necessary. This is an important consideration before locking up any funds.

The best part is only stake what you can afford to commit for long time or don’t participate in ASR if you think 30 days is too long to commit your jup.
The ASR program is an example of PPP Experiment if users is not ready to be involve for long time it’s actually encourage to try out other Jupiter products.
