Discussion on how to renew after the ASR expires in September 2025

Possible Renewal Plans:

  1. Based on the unclaimed Jup from this year’s Jupuary, estimated at 20% of last year’s Jupuary unclaimed rate, 500 million × 0.2 = 100 million, plus an additional 100 million allocated from the 200 million Carrot pool. Together, these 200 million Jup could renew the ASR for one year.
  2. Directly take 200 million Jup from the canceled fourth Jupuary (1 billion Jup) to renew for one year, allowing for a total of five years of renewal.
  3. Allocate Jup as the gas fee for Jupnet into the ASR. The advantage of this plan is that the ASR could be perpetual; the disadvantage is that the ASR amount would not be fixed.
All three of the above plans may require a community vote to be passed before implementation.

I feel using money generated from revenue from protocol to fund ASR would be considered as RevShare and won’t be easy to be implement

Honestly ASR should never come from jupuary. Onboarding new users is more important to the long term growth of Jupiter. This year’s jupuary felt like a flop for those users who engaged a large amount but had not extreme amounts of capital. Personally that’s my view.
