Design Jupiter Mobile v2’s theme and win $5,000

Jupiter Mobile is YOUR app.

That’s why we want YOU, our community, to create and pick a new theme for the upcoming Jupiter Mobile v2 release — the biggest launch in our history.

This includes 3 graphics that are core to the vibe of Jupiter Mobile: the loading screen + the portfolio and dApp browser backgrounds.

You have a chance to put your work in the hands of millions and become a certified @JupiterExchange LEGEND — plus win $5,000.

Design something we love, and we’ll put our favorites up for a vote in front of the entire community.

The top vote getter will get paid, and work with our team to integrate their design into the app. We’ll even select colors and fonts to match what you make, so the whole app feels just right.

You bring the vibes & art, we’ll get it production ready.

The deadline to submit entries is April 4, 2025 at Midnight UTC.

To make it extra easy to get involved, we’ve prepared a Figma that you can clone and update:

Design guidelines:

  • Good Vibes Only
  • Dynamic and Fresh
  • Suited for a darker themed / dark mode app

Once you’re ready, drop your submission here in the replies, as well as on X, and tag @jup_mobile.

We look forward to seeing what you design.

My Submission for the @jup_mobile Background Contest!

:one: Backsplash - Cave of Jupiter

A glowing green Jupiter crystal rests deep inside a cosmic cave, casting light on ancient rocks, the perfect dark mode intro.

:two: Portfolio - Pit Stop for Jupiter Mobile

A space cat explorer pulls out Jupiter Mobile mid-adventure to check memecoins. Relatable vibe for traders who can trade on Jupiter mobile at lightning-fast speed.

:three: Browser - Homecoming View (Jup is Home)

The Jupiter mascot stands beneath Marina Bay Singapore, gazing up at the glowing planet. A tribute to where Jupiter was born and where the team is based.

My idea was intended for good vibes, dark mode friendly, and tells the story of the Jupiverse.

As a product designer and a user of the Jupiter Mobile App on iOS, I’ve always admired its sleek interface and engaging animations. This experience inspired my approach to the Backsplash screen, where I illustrated an astronaut bouncing in space—symbolizing Jupiter’s innovative and limitless trading experience.

:small_blue_diamond: Key Design Choices:
:white_check_mark: Minimalist Approach: No distracting images—just a clean, dynamic layout.
:white_check_mark: Brand Colors & Gradients: Carefully crafted to enhance the dark mode experience.
:white_check_mark: Seamless User Flow: From onboarding to portfolio management, every detail was designed for smooth navigation.

I ensured my design aligns with Jupiter’s Good Vibes Only energy, keeping it dynamic, fresh, and immersive. Looking forward to feedback! :rocket::dizzy:

Here is my entry:

As you can see I prefer I like when art has some teeth and grit. So I went for a painerly style with traditional textures and a little bit of pixelisation.

In my opinion original portfolio art has some too much of storytelling in it for this page, so I went with much more abstract art.

No Ai was used since I am not into that kind of things.

Introducing my “Jupiter Mobile V2” submission background contest

1. Backsplash :milky_way:
We’re setting the tone as the gateway to Jupiter’s ecosystem. This dreamlike scene, where a lone cat gazes upon an ethereal moon, sets the tone for endless possibilities. Just like Jupiter’s liquidity engine fuels DeFi, this backsplash invites users into a world where the sky is not the limit—it’s just the beginning. This cosmic theme produces a spectacular welcome screen that immediately immerses you in the “Jupiter” experience.

2. Portoflio :man_astronaut:
The cosmic astronaut cat conveys a sense of bold exploration—perfect for showcasing your token balances. Much like Jupiter pushes the boundaries of on-chain innovation, our portfolio screen invites users to venture beyond the familiar and this immersive scene reinforces the feeling of stepping into the future of finance.

3. dApp Browser :shooting_star:
(The “Jupicave”), a portal into uncharted realms. This futuristic underground ecosystem, glowing with energy, symbolizes the hidden gems of the DeFi space. Just as these spacefaring felines uncover new worlds, Jupiter users will discover, interact, and navigate the best dApps seamlessly.

Also I changed little bit on a layout and the font-type,

Don’t get me wrong, all the proposals that have been posted to date really look amazing, but if you want mass adoption it should look less “childish”, having kittens, cats or cartoons in general in the background, would relate to many in web2 as not serious business, definitely not suited for a wider audience. Just my perspective. Recommend it to keep the art clean, crisp and simple. May the best art win. :eyes:

Mine is a bit old school.

  1. A Glowing lantern effect design flow for backsplash.

  2. An AI image for inter galactic super cats and some branding update to the portfolio.

  3. A similar branding update to browser with an AI image of a Psychic cat playing with cosmic fire.

I have tried to keep it Degen and classy at the same time.

I don’t know if people will like it or not, but still, I am posting this.

  1. Splash Screen – The Guardians of Jupiter

Majestic cats sit atop Jupiter, watching over the planet like cosmic guardians. Their presence symbolizes protection, intelligence, and the boundless potential of Jupiter Exchange.

  1. Portfolio Screen – The Astronaut Cat in Space

A cat astronaut floats in space, staring at a glowing portfolio screen displaying its assets. This represents users monitoring their holdings and tracking their financial journey in DeFi.

  1. Browser Screen – The Watchful Cat Exploring the Digital World

A curious cat overlooks a futuristic digital landscape, symbolizing exploration and discovery. This represents users browsing and navigating through the vast ecosystem of Jupiter Exchange.https://x.com/olasunkanmidc/status/1905992473857458480?s=46

Here’s my 2 entries thus far, will be adding more design themes as i get more inspirations.
Spent a few hour watching figma tutorials, learning what are components and how things work.

Apart from implementing some images into the template, i added some buttons on the portollio page.
I really hope the Send, Receive, Buy tab on the portfollio center instead of using the + icon at the bottom right of the screen.
In my humble opinion, new users should be able to find what they need within 3~5 secs of scrolling through the interface. If they can’t find what they need without tapping some button, something is wrong.

I’ll be dropping the figma link later when i’ve all the design done, don’t want to see random cursors around my canvas while i’m still working on the other ideas.

There should really be an abolition on the use of AI for these kind of ‘‘events’’ if so we want to call them (they can show proof of work for that). It should be an actual design contest made by people who can actually design something, the use of AI especially correlated to businesses just comes out as a sloppy and cheap attempt, and I believe it would deminish the overall trust on the products
