Counter part on the voting process

Dear all,

I’m feeling a bit frustrated nowadays so i’m coming here to explain myself and share with you my throughts.

Pardon my french. (or my englibsh)

Lot of votes happened who lead (again) to a lot of FUD. When you are talking about spending money, people are not happy.

When you correlate this with the token price, the macro economy and some pro haters, you have an explosive cocktails.

And to be honest, i can understand why they are not happy. People see vote after vote, their yearly or life time salary spent for 3 months of work / 1 year of work and never see the results or don’t care about it (i would go with the 2nd option). Even if it’s not their money ect ect

  • We had a some lack of communication who lead and are leading with a divorce between a part of the community and the team.

And i’m talking only about recent votes but it was the same for CAWG, for jupuary, ect …

Past is past, let’s talk about the solutions and how we may avoid or repairs some issues.

I would propose a counter part on the voting process.

I would like us to be a real DAO.

I would like us to have a counter part who is working with the team to elaborate vote, defending the community interests AND the team interest.

Our mantra was 50%/50% and it’s not the case in the DAO.

I would like to build a team who doesn’t have any financial incentives who is iterating with to communicate and propose votes who suits for both.

I’m thinking people as lochie, WTP, or mbolorman who i met in catstanbul and also a lot of great jup enjoyers . A team composed of Catdets and CoC who understand the jup vision.

This team must have right :

For example :

I would like them to have 1 veto right by ASR. They can reject a vote

I would like them to have the right to propose 1 vote by ASR (For examples : Give a part of the carrots quarterly to people who are answering plenty of questions on the discord, who are onboarding people, who are creating contenus …)

I want also this fair. I want to give the right to the community to choose the person who will defend them and their interest. I would like to have a yearly vote or bi yearly vote to choose the team who will defend them for the year.

I want it also to listen the community something as the same process we did for jupuary and the tiers. ( Proposal => tchat => feedback => adaptation)

This team or catdet community task force should help a LOT to clear FUD and do the proper bridge between community and team.

Again, i insist, this team should not receive anything to be impartial.
Their purpose is not to block the team or risk the future of the jup project.

Their only mission is to defend community interest and jup long term vision.

Do not hesitate to tell me what you are thinking about this proposition and to add some notes if you want to

I think we have a system that represents the Dao in theory. In fact I believe we should have a change to voting going forward. In the same way we had a majority vote for the last jupuary round. We should make every vote going forward have a 80% pass rate to take effect. This encourages much needed discussions surrounding each new proposal. It forces the team to give time and effort to explaining each new proposal. It is important to mention here that the team already does quite a lot towards explaining matters and I would imagine has a busy schedule. But it’s important to take the time and fully engage the community to avoid disgruntlement. Also it’s highly probable that the price of Jup is a reflection of overall market sentiments, not disappointment with the team. I don’t sugarcoat nor do I blame the team for wanting to spend money. The salaries are way way to excessive. Give us a break.

The gift from jupuary was mostly beneficial to very large capital therefore it did not onboard a lot of new stakers. Quite a lot went to exsisting stakers as well. Now people are probably seeing exuberant amounts going to salaries and are wondering why they were not included in the pie. They were gifted from the community a couple of hundred Jup. We are talking about the many here the real users, who have engaged in the protocol a lot. Since we have to remember most bots were excluded. Perhaps that’s why people are disgruntled. Also when you see that your vote has no impact. Not because your voting power may be low and this could be partially the case but because you know that the top 10% have most of the voting power, you also get disgruntled. Just giving you guys some real talk here.
