Working Group (WG) Grant Application: Jupiter Raiders!

Finally! As I can not hold back on a baseline negative comment here, I have to say that this proposal is something how the team should work with community engagement natively. To some degree it should not even be others job but more “how everything should work”. Negative statement over.

I really like everything about it, and in a way I trust those two, to do a better progressive job at such a function than anyone from the team anyway, because engagement, feedback and reactions have not been the strength of the team anyway, so far I saw in the last 4 month. And I have looked at everything for sure.

The beauty of this application is in it’s simplicity. Look no hopium, no untangible vision blabla. Just effective facts. Very cohesive strategy.

It helps not just JUP but also those who want to engage with JUP. The competative aspect will breed a lot of “sidequests” that might not qualify for the top spot but not go unnoticed.

It is fair for those participating, and for the evaluators. Compared to many other application it does get one thing on point: measurable success. The cost to outcome ratio is more than tangible and for once we have a proposal here that really tries to not just make an impact, but also one that can be measured. KPI and milestones, period.

I love it!

Thank you Merlin! thats amazing feedback. Having measurable goals and kpi’s are essential for any WG. Otherwise they are too subjective to see “is it worth x amount of $”. The plan for this is to keep budget low, but rewards for cadets high!

In a nut shell we are asking for $2400 + 1200 Jup For 12 weeks.

We have $150,000 in grants. Whats the worst that can happen in trying?

Great proposal, I hope we will be able to vote for it.

Hi guys!

Thank you so much for your feedback. I have noted it and improved in.

Heres the slight changes:
How the raid group will work

  1. Raid Posts:
  • People submit their raid posts to @rb87 and @lochie2001 via dm on twitter.
  • We filter these posts based on quality and engagement potential.
  • Share selected posts with the raid group for amplification. We will make a seperate twitter group and also use discord for weekly prize announcements.
  1. Tracking Engagement:
  • Create a spreadsheet to log engagement metrics. Average likes per post. Ect.
  • Establish a rule (e.g., “no post has under 50 likes”) for raid participation. We don’t stop until we reach that!
  • Track and report weekly engagement levels for transparency.
  1. Selecting Weekly $JUP Winners:
  • Identify the top performers in the raid squad each week based on quality and effectiveness.
  • Reward “Raiders of the Week” with JUP prizes.
  • Bonus consideration for those who help grow the group and get people involved!
  1. Recruiting New Members:
  • Aim to recruit 5-10 new members into the raid squad each week.
  • Promote group growth on Twitter through updates.

6. Set Weekly Raid Themes:
Create specific themes for each week (e.g., memes, educational threads, influencer engagement). This keeps the group motivated and brings variety to the raids.

7 Incentivize Content Quality:
Encourage members to create higher-quality content, such as threads, infographics, or video posts. Offer bonus rewards for creative posts that gain significant traction.

What the WG leaders will do day to day-

  1. Collect raid post submissions via DM on Twitter and Discord.
  2. Filter posts based on quality and engagement potential.
  3. Share selected posts with the raid group on Twitter and Discord.
  4. Update the spreadsheet daily to track engagement metrics.
  5. Ensure posts hit the minimum engagement threshold (e.g., 50 likes).
  6. Review member activity and select two “Raiders of the Week.” Allocate and announce JUP prizes.
  7. Recruit 5-10 new members each week.
  8. Post updates on Twitter and Discord about group growth.
  9. Set weekly themes for raids.
  10. Encourage high-quality content creation and offer bonus rewards. Coordinate on progress and strategies during available time windows.
  11. Check engagement and respond to important messages.

This proposal is a no-brainer: approve.

As a Solana token dev we have used raid competitions using a Telegram raid bot with prices for our communities, and have had great results at a small budget.

  • The reason it works: because the social media algo’s are programmed this way.

The DAO is mainly for big directional things and large proposals. For the sake of efficiency it would be easy if there was a certain term member or work group with a $1M budget and the authority to approve proposals under $10K budget.

I have nothing but positive words to say about @lochie2001 from the posts I’ve seen. No doubt they would be spreading Jupiter far and wide with positive vibes.

At the same time I think we should generally aim to up our proposals a notch in details. We need more transparency and communication with how performance is being measure and set these goals ahead of time.

Is a good example of a quantifiable measurement we can keep track against.

Is an example of too vague of an action (even though it is mentioned above examples of metrics like average likes per post).

I would suggest instead to present a report weekly/bi-weekly or even monthly on the numbers and impact of your actions. The key question is always how differently it would’ve been if we did nothing.

You can do A/B testing by picking two posts that you’d want to raid and see how one compares versus the other. Over a period of 12 weeks you should be able to measure and quantify how each different strategy fared and then be able to present final findings.

At the end of the day it’s not a matter of cost here (this is beyond reasonable!), just the principle behind proposals and what the DAO pays for. We shouldn’t get in a mindset that just because we spend time we should get paid/rewarded for it; everything should be done with a purpose.

With all that said I’d be supporting this but hope to be able to have quantifiable impact demonstrated!

Additionaly I would like to point out that @lochie2001 is:

THE most active user on Jupresearch of all time.

In other words, he has already proven himself big time!

Brother @lochie2001 likes my posts before I even get to post them. Gotta love this dude. I think Twitter is good place to use all that dedication and spread the word. :metal:

This idea is an important step towards supporting each other and fostering mutual growth within the community on social media. I actively create content, but since I don’t hold the Cadet role, I’m unable to share my posts with other members on Discord, even on the Turkish channel. Perhaps through this working group, I’ll have better access to the Turkish community. This group offers a valuable opportunity for people like me, who produce content and want to engage with a broader audience.

Wow that was extremely impressive feedback! I appreciate it a lot.

It’s tough with twitter to quantify impact and measurable kpi’s but you have highlighted great ideas! Feedback has been noted.

My goal is minimise impact on dao treasury, whilst also providing more jup in the hands of the day. I’m incredible grateful for this feedback!
