What’s the idea behind the founder’s background in the video, it stands out

The background is a nod to the millions of tea stalls that we have in India. The first wifi hotspots we installed were in these micro-retailers because getting chai and hanging out for a bit in front of a tea-stall is a time honoured tradition in India and we figured that if people were hanging around these locations, they’d want fast internet access and we were right, turns out they do

Hey Karam and the Dabba team!

Congratulations on your raise efforts, YCombinator is an impressive achievement! Not to mention Google affiliations and early sell out of Season 1 Hotspots.

Getting good internet to those that are in need or lack network access sounds exciting and would love to speak to you about that more. Me and @SaxWEB3 host a Jupiter Ecosystem related podcast called JUP & Juice, would you be interesting in booking a slot with us? Details are below.

Podcast Invitation

Just met the Dabba team at Solana HackerHouse. Mind blown!

This team has a crystal-clear vision for revolutionising connectivity how we know it. Their deep industry experience shines through. Jupiter will do well to highlight projects like these that leverage blockchain to create social impact, looking forward to vote

Great meeting you at HH ! Our work in telecommunications over the last 8 years with companies like google and the government has definitely primed us well for the DePIN space and we’re super excited with what’s to come, especially with the JUP fam!

Besides data consumption, what other potential revenue streams is Dabba exploring?

There are three ways in which we will expand revenue:

A. Bundled offerings to customers
B. Platform for other DePin projects
C. Dabba routerkit API

Bundled offerings to consumers:
These offers are designed to boost data consumption

  1. Set top box - We plan to offer an android STB to users with streaming applications like Netflix, Hotstar, etc so that data consumption increases.
  2. Security camera - We have seen strong demand from existing consumers for a desire to have cameras along with the wifi service.

Platform for other DePin projects (Network of networks)
There are two key strengths the Dabba marketplace brings to the DePin ecosystem that can be leveraged by other DePin projects.

  1. Decoupling ownership from deployment location
  2. Distribution network via LCOs

Assume for example you are weather collecting DePin project. You have thousands of happy users who have installed your weather sensors on their rooftops. A ton of your users would be happy to buy more devices and support your network, but they can’t because they have only one rooftop to install your device. If they want to participate more in your project, the amount of effort they have to put in is now exponential. They’ve gotta convince friends or family to give them access to their rooftop, install the sensor, maintain it, etc.

This becomes a bottleneck to your growth because your model assumes that owner and deployer are the same thing. What you can do to break this bottleneck is to list your weather device on the Dabba network where anyone can buy it from anywhere in the world and one of the LCOs on the Dabba network will install and maintain it at a suitable location.

This helps your project by opening up a new geography for you and helping serve your best supporters along with expanding your network with low effort.

This same principle applies to mapping devices, sound sensors, pollution, gpu’s,cpu’s etc.

Dabba routerkit API

The hardware in the wifi hotspots is powerful enough to host some innovative applications and features that developers can take advantage of. For example, devs will be able to create applications like ad-blockers or vpns that can be installed by the user on their router to provide additional functionality. We will also enable the creation of advertisement networks on the public wifi, ability to create custom SSID’s, limited offline internet access and more.

I have been following this project since the end of January. I have already made great profits from Hive Mapper and found this project while looking for the next project. Although there is a big secret that I cannot tell, I am confident that this project can be a great success.
