Introducing Ambient: The Environmental DePIN on Solana

Already addressed your criticisms but you doubled down on the insults. We welcome feedback to improve the app and take it to the next level. We’re all ears if you have any suggestions. Thank you.

So facts are insults now. Nice slight of hands after calling someone a keyboard warrior who has not insulted you, not sure if we are just making things up now as we roll.

The feedback to improve the app was already within the criticism.

  • Make real native app not a website trying to pretend to be one.
  • If this was work involving time and resources, change whoever is in charge of it and deliver a real product.
  • Bring in some real app utility into the app that goes beyond rating a simple scale in few categories.
  • Have the app actually show all existing venues and not just a limited free service POI grab.
  • Do not improve the current to the next level, start new with proper devs, much cheaper in the end and better results.

But the real feedback is:

Actually look at other apps, to maybe get a realistic perspective for what is possible and within reason from a user experience side. It is easy to say that others were not perfect on day one but totally ignore that all the others delivered something twenty times better on day one.

Do not take jabs at users saying that you are out there building, if the app does not improve anywhere near to other projects products.

Everything needs to start simple and scale, but ignoring realities will not help to be progress. It is easy to defend something if you go out of your way to ignore user feedback or the competition.

All APK of other apps are available, you can look at apps like Silencio, Natix, Helium, Bee, Pi, TON ecosystem, Hivemapper, Nodle, CryptoTabBrowser, Hi, WeatherXM, Hive OS, GeoCash, Fone and many more to see that their day one product was of an entirely different scale.

Of course if you never try such apps and compare to others, it is easier to pretend all is fine. Just try to find an app that is worse, nothing more I dared initially. Still stands.

Let’s defuse the heat for a moment. You seem to be a real user of the app, so your feedback has value, while it might be a little edging at times. There is no value in starting fights like this.

Maybe, as you also said you are on Ambient Discord, try the approach of not just pointing out flaws, but rather driving constructive change to it. I bet you would be good at it.

I mean if you were not emotionally invested, you would not go through the length to pinpoint it here. If you try to hold back a little on the judgemental comments (it is a bit crude ngl) and instead try to advise on progression, in the end both sides were more happy. And probably Ambient Discord is a better venue for that.

The team there is pretty open to communication and feedback, no need for a pillow-fight on the Jupiter forums :magic_wand: :man_mage:

Now let’s all take a deep breath, and re-focus.

Inner peace!

I get it, but after making my point which I still stand by, I was challenged on it and just wanted to set things in perspective, do not like these verbal tricks of deflection. But do not worry, my time zone ends soon anyway and will rather contribute on Discord next time.It was just not really active there and rather persona focused.

Thanks for the feature on JUP Discord btw, you are the best!

Np, any time again. Just be a little more mindful in future and not ignite so much pressure. Jupiter is about PPP and especially in the forums we want to foster a kinder approach between users but also to projects. Criticism is always welcome, and there will never be censorship, but remember that others are reading silently along and especially here content should have quality.

Let’s not waste users reading attention with verbal flexes. Let’s bring the best content for everyone!

Brilliant, thank you, appreciate the constructive feedback. We’re already addressing a number of those points and look forward to sharing an update in the coming weeks.

As usual @Merlin-M-Ostermann thanks for using this more logical approach & words for trying to cool the tone of exchanges down. Think you’ve set the right tone here and hope it’s taken into consideration by all parties for future comments.
