Thanks! There are a few blockchain-based marketplaces for wine already that are doing well. The issue is that they are all stovepipes with no transparency across platforms. dVIN is a unified protocol that many marketplaces, exchanges, DTC platforms, etc. can be built on top of. We think consumption data in exchange for $VIN is a good phase 1, focused on the most engaged wine lovers - similar to airmiles programs that at first targeted frequent business fliers. DePIN as a phase 2 will produce chain-of-custody and provenance data that will provide valuable incentives all the way through the value chain that don’t exist today. And finally unified transaction data is really critical to a smooth-running and transparent global marketplace, as well as providing critical business intelligence to winemakers. There is already a very large market for data in the beverage industry - the issue is that the data for wine has always been low quality and expensive. Our goal with $VIN is to make it high quality and cheap.
